A season of change for Northern Virginia as election campaigns begin

Board chair Ann Wheeler (D) is facing a June primary election challenge from Deshundra Jefferson, a communications strategist in Montclair who has opposed data center development in rural areas.

So far, Republicans have not mounted a challenge against Wheeler. But she is facing a recall effort launched by groups angry about her support for data center development.
